Construction Software Firm Hits Target Turnover
Aberdeen-based Encode, a Microsoft software consultancy focused on the construction and oil and gas sectors, is on target to turnover more than £500,000 in its first year along with recruiting its 7th person.
The Microsoft Dynamics NAV consultants (a financial and operational software tool) recently rescued a £300,000 project for leading manufacturer of timber windows and doors in Europe, NorDan. Encode will now continue to support NorDan UK and further develop the system, which could lead to a further £90,000 of consultancy work.
Mike McLeish, director, Encode, said: "Encode is going from strength to strength with our NAV 2009 Foundations and Platform products. We discovered that many businesses in the construction and energy sector require assistance with simplifying and streamlining business processes and because of this we continue to win work throughout the UK and Ireland with these industry-specific products.
"Businesses need to deliver projects on time and on budget. Companies who invest in the right financial and operational software execute projects more efficiently, deliver higher quality results to their customers, and at the same time increase their business profitability and customer service."
Microsoft Dynamics NAV provides financial and operational software tools for the construction and energy industries. It can be used for every area of a business, from general accounting and payroll, to project management and manufacturing. It standardises the entire company on a single integrated business-management solution to increase productivity from people, processes and technology.
Philip Mowatt, IT Manager of NorDan UK, added: "I inherited a frustrating and costly failing project with another software firm, we were not delivering the increased standard of customer service we desired for our clients and were not reaping the benefits of this business intelligence system. Encode was able to address the implementation issues with Navision quickly and efficiently, then assisting with the deployment of the system across four further locations within a matter of weeks, integrating almost all areas of our business nationwide. We are now beginning to deliver for staff, our customers and in almost all areas of the business.
"For NorDan UK, and many other businesses in the construction industry, the right business system can dramatically increase productivity, efficiency and customer service, giving real visibility of the company's performance. With our expansion throughout the UK, we can now forecast sales and set or assess targets through real-time information, which helps us plan for the future."
NorDan UK Ltd supply high performance timber windows and doors throughout the UK via its four locations Aberdeen, Glasgow, Gloucester and Ipswich.
Encode Software is an Escape Group company. With offices in Aberdeen and Glasgow the company set-up in late 2009 and now has a team of 5 consultants and 2 account managers, it operates in the construction and oil and gas sectors providing financial and resource planning software solutions to these industries. |
